Coming Oct. 16* — Pros, Cons and Consequences: 2024 Ballot Initiatives

This program is sold out.

Brian Heywood, founder and co-chair of “Let’s Go Washington” and a self-described new political powerbroker will join the Bellingham City Club to advocate in favor of the four initiatives (see below) on this year’s ballot. State Representative Alex Ramel, Senator Liz Lovelett, and representatives of “Invest in Washington Now” and the AARP  will present the opposition view. The initiatives before voters in November seek to repeal or weaken laws passed by the Legislature’s Democratic majority and deal with the Climate Commitment Act, capital gains taxes, new construction building codes and long term care insurance.

  • Initiative 2066: Related to Restrictions on Access to Natural Gas
  • Initiative 2109: Repeal Capital Gains Tax
  • Initiative 2117: Prohibiting All State Agencies, Counties, and Cities From Implementing Carbon Tax Credit Trading [Repeal the Climate Commitment Act (CCA)]
  • Initiative 2124: Opting out of Long-Term Services Insurance Program

Note:  One week early!
