Brian Heywood, founder and co-chair of “Let’s Go Washington” and a self-described new political powerbroker joins the Bellingham City Club to advocate in favor of the four initiatives (see below) on this year’s ballot. State Representative Alex Ramel, Senator Sharon Shewmake, and representatives of “Invest in Washington Now” and the AARP present the opposition view. The initiatives before voters in November seek to repeal or weaken laws passed by the Legislature’s Democratic majority and deal with the Climate Commitment Act, capital gains taxes, new construction building codes and long term care insurance.
